NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Heidelberg University women's soccer team took a long trip to North Manchester, Indiana to battle the Spartans of Manchester College. Despite a late goal from freshman Alex Sivec in the 85th minute, the Berg fell 2-1.
Sivec's goal marks her first of the season and sixth for the Student Prince in 2013.
Leading goal scorer Christina Neal added two shot to her season total against the Spartans, which now stands at ten.
Manchester jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 81st minute when Brandy Crouse knocked one past senior keeper Molly Schriber. With the score tied, 1-1 following Sivec's goal, the Spartans leading scorer, Katelyn Barta netted the game winning goal.
The Heidelberg women move to 1-4-1 on the year with four non-conference opponents remaining before Ohio Athletic Conference action.
The Student Princes will travel to Anderson, Ind. to square off with the Ravens of Anderson University on Saturday, September 21. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
